Vote Yes on 49

  • Property owners don't need to document a loss in fair market value for their property in order to build 1-3 houses.
  • Property Owners can build up to 10 homes on their property, as long as they can document a loss of fair market value from a local restriction. This is done through an audit.
  • 49 passes the right of ownership on to spouses and new owners. 37 did not do that.
  • 49 keeps industrial development off of EFU Exclusive Farm Use land as well as High Value Land and limited groundwater land.
  • 49 is a compromise between land owners and the government to allow property owners to build modestly on farm land, to restrict urban and industrial sprawl.
  • Over half of the 37 claims have already been accepted and processed.
  • 49 stops large housing subdivisions that could deplete local limited groundwater as well as deplete any and all farmland. 37 is a green light for subdivision development and strip mining next to rivers.
  • 49 stops stops unwanted development of strip malls on Exclusive Farm Use land. 37 would let them build with little restriction.
  • Oregon FireFighters support 49.
  • 37 needs to be fixed and 49 is the best compromise between government and land owners.

If a person feels M37 is a bad idea M49 isn't a fix.

If a person feels M49 is the government trying to be fair it is proof that pior to M37 passage Oregon's land use was unfair (hence the need for fairness now).

People felt they were disenfranchised and treated unfairly by governmental regulations. They felt that they lost fair value on their land. They were right.

In their haste to get compensation, Ballot Measure 37 was created. In it's simplicity, there were many unforeseen problems. Many of which included an influx of claims that had the potential of devestating local farm, forest and limited ground water property.

This will not do.

It is obvious to many, that 37 was poorly written in it's simplicity. It needed to be fixed.

49 is a compromise between the "unfair" pendulam swinging both ways. It compromises "some" development on High Value land, EFU land and limited groundwater land while at the same time, stopping over development.

Vote Yes on 49 to curb over development on Oregon's sacred land. If you want overdevelopment to occur, then simply vote No on 49.

M37 was not hastily created.

It was in fact a second attempt which past by an even larger landslide of support (in an election cycle when liberals utterly dominated).

Limited ground water is protected under well established water rights and the Clean Water Act.

M37 was simply written (very basic applicatoin requiring no real litigation to discern.

You say you read it. What is so poorly written? Point to it.

You're just wrong and you don't substantiate any of your statements.

Which is really perplexing because you are well known for throwing out a plethora of facts to substantiate your point.

Go figure.
